2Dog Studio is located in Billings, Montana. I am an

independent artist and I work in several media including clay, digital painting & design, photography and fabric.

Michelangelo once said: “A beautiful thing never gives

so much pain as does failing to hear and see it.” When I

was about 7 years old, I remember sitting on my school

playground drawing horses when everyone else was climbing the monkey bars or running around. I knew at that moment that was who I was, an artist. I don’t mean this in a presumptuous way. I just knew that I was meant to work in this way whether others appreciated my work or not.

To cope with the emotional conflict I experienced as a child, I found myself observing interactions and removing myself from the company of other people. This practice took me outside to spend time with my animal friends—that cats, dogs and even turkeys that we had while I was growing up.  That time kept me grounded, taught me humor and humility and helped me to appreciate and wonder at the natural world.

The intricacies of nature have become the driving force in my work.  No matter the medium, my work is a way to share my experiences with the viewer, particularly in clay. A means of coaxing earth, water and fire to stand still.
