Inspired by the creativity of beetles, spiders and the powerful oak tree, this piece is one of a kind. Oak and maple leaves from my wilderness walks pressed into a large silver shield, surrounded by an earthy copper framework and handmade chain which includes turquoise, antler, red creek jasper and a large fossil stone. Beetles and spiders represent creativity and connectedness, while the oak is said to be a doorway to other realms. My intent with this piece is to recognize that even the smallest creatures have a magical impact on this world. And in turn we can champion their intrinsic value and honor them.
